Budds Creek is located approximately 1½ from Baltimore, 1 hour from downtown Washington, D.C. and approximately 1½ hours from Richmond, VA directly off Maryland Highway 234 in scenic Southern Maryland. For amateur race dates, traffic has never been a problem and all routes are always clear. Our Pro-National Sunday event brings approximately 20,000 spectators and some minor traffic delays can be expected.
Alternate routes: There are several alternate routes that may provide you with a shorter entry or exit from the track. Generally these routes are much faster and have been used by local spectators for years.
* Option 1 from the North, turn left on Maryland Highway 5 South out of Waldorf, MD. Continue straight on Highway 5 for 16 miles to Maryland Highway 236. Turn right on to 236 for 6 miles until it ends at Maryland Highway 234. Turn right on to 234 and the track is 1/8 th of a mile on the left. Please use caution for Amish carriages on 236.
Option 2 from the North, using U.S. Highway 301, turn left onto Maryland Highway 6 at LaPlata. Travel 8 miles to Trinity Church Road, turn right and travel 6 miles to the end of the road at Maryland Highway 234. Turn left and travel 1 mile, the track will be on the right. This is the least used and fastest way to get to highway 301 after the race.
From Points South, follow I-95, 30 miles North of Richmond to Route 207, turn right, this becomes U.S. Highway 301. Travel North 5 miles into Maryland, and turn right on Maryland Highway 234. The track is 10 miles on the right.
* When leaving the track for U.S. Highway 301, you have several options: * Exit the track to the left on Maryland Highway 234 and continue straight to U.S. 301. This tends to be the most popular and most heavily traveled route. Back-ups have been knows to exceed a few miles. * You may also exit the track to the left on 234 and take one of several back roads to the North that take you to Maryland Highway 6. Turn left onto State Road 6, and follow it to U.S.Highway 301. * Your 3rd option is to exit the track to the right and at approximately 1/8 th mile, turn left on Maryland Highway 236. Continue straight on 236 to the Stop Sign and turn left onto Maryland Highway 5 North. Maryland Highway 5 North will take you to highway 301 at Waldor
